Obituary for Jennie Louise Demmons (Sukeforth)

WARREN – Jennie Louise Sukeforth Demmons, 76, went to be with the Lord, August 19, 2014.
Born in Rockland, July 6, 1938, she was the daughter of Roland and Phyllis Moore Sukeforth.
On July 30, 1955, she married her grade school sweetheart, Ralph Demmons, Jr. They lived in Fort Worth, Texas, while her husband served in the U.S. Air Force.
Jennie’s work career included employment as a waitress in Rockland, Sylvania’s in Waldoboro, and 18 years at National Sea Products in Rockland, until the closing of that plant. At that time, she completed a Certified Nursing Assistant course. After graduating, she worked at Coastal Child Care which she loved very much, and was very fond of the children there. She later worked at Rockland Head Start and retired from that job. Even in retirement, Jennie could not sit still as she served as a caregiver for two ladies. She enjoyed her job and became very attached to them.
Other than her parents, Jennie was pre-deceased by a sister, Helen Small. She is survived by her husband Ralph Demmons, Jr. of Warren; her children Gary Demmons and his wife Lori of Kentucky, Robert Demmons and his companion Lena of Tenants Harbor, Phyllis Davis and her husband George of Warren, Linda Hills and her companion Dave of Auburn; grandchildren, Christina Campbell and her husband Andrew, Joseph Harris and his wife Kari, Robert Demmons, Jr. and his wife Melissa, Scott Demmons, Breanna Demmons, Jonathan Demmons and his wife Shelby, Sarah and her husband Jordan Stearns, Derek Jeffers, Zachary Titus; great-grandchildren, Brandon and his companion Tamika, Andrew Campbell, Jr., Nicole, Shannon, Jazmine, Brennan, Cerra, Trevor, Rhiannon, Victoria; one great-great granddaughter Isabella; one nephew; three nieces including a very special niece that she was very close to, Kathryn Dinsmore; as well as several great nieces and nephews. And last but not least two special babies, Chihuahuas Pedro and Cocoa that she loved very much. She will meet her other babies Baby, Yoda and Sheba on Rainbow Bridge where they are waiting for her.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Seaview Cemetery, Rockport, accessible from Chestnut Street in Camden.
Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. To share a memory or condolence with Jennie’s family, please visit her Book of Memories at www.bchfh.com.
