Obituary for William Paul"Bill" Widdecombe
WARREN - William P “Bill” Widdecombe, 68, passed away at his home, October 4th, at his home after an extended period of declining health.
At Bill’s request, no funeral services will be held. There will be a celebration of his life, at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 4th at the American Legion hall in Thomaston.
Born in Rockland, June 24, 1949, he was the son of William S. and Pauli Graisbary Widdecombe. He attended Rockland schools.
He married his wife, Diana on March 27th, 1993.
For more than 25 years, Bill worked restoring antique furniture for Buzz and Marti Martens and Richard Benner, at Yankee Stripper in Rockport.
He took great pride in his home and loved doing yard work. He liked to spend time with his wife, going on weekend road trips and just spending time at home together. He always looked forward to his fishing trips with his best friend, Tim Whitney, every summer. He liked to have his children and grandchildren around often and loved his yearly visits from brother Bob. Bill was known for his witty jokes and sense of humor. He loved drag racing and Nascar and was an avid New England Patriots fan.
He is preceded in death by his grandson Devon R Stewart July 23, 2010 and his father William S Widdecombe in 2011. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Diana M Widdecombe of Warren; his son William S Widdecombe II and his wife Naomi of Turner; daughter Katina Stewart and her companion Andrew Russo of Warren; Son Jarod Rackliff and his wife Lynnette Chase of Thomaston; grandchildren Dylan Rackliff, Brayden and Kyra Widdecombe; his mother Pauli Graisbary of Searsport; aunt Mary Graisbary of Rockland; his brother Robert J Widdecombe and his wife Tuat Thi Nguyen of Kona, Hawaii; sisters Autumn Drinkwater of Warren and Donna Hustus of Searsport, many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family members.
