Cindy Lee "Williams"  Cookson
ROCKLAND – Cindy L. Cookson, 57, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 surrounded by family after a long illness at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta.
Born in Rockland, September 3, 1959 Cindy was the daughter of Dennis ‘Sonny’ and Beverly Davis Williams. She attended Rockland schools and was a 1978 graduate of Rockland District High School. She loved playing Bingo and Farmville and spending time with her family. Cindy was a 30 plus year member of the Rockland Salvation Army where she made a lot of friends, who would laugh together with their silly and crazy shenanigans. Cindy enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters Jaelynn and Janessa, who were the loves of her life, her true pride and joys. She loved doing crafts with them and loved giving them lots of hugs and kisses.
Cindy was predeceased by her parents; her son, Devin Kyle Cookson; her grandparents, Walter, Sr. and Mildred Davis and her aunt Judith Hill. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Christopher Cookson; her brother, Dennis Williams; her son, Trevor ‘Trevin’ Cookson; her daughter Trisha Jones and her husband Harvey Jones and their two kids Jaelynn and Janessa; her two nieces, Courtney Burr and her husband Eric Burr and their daughter Kenley, Chelsea Williams and her partner Daniel and their soon to be daughter. Cindy was also survived by many family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 11th at the Rockland Corps Salvation Army, 27 Payne Avenue, Rockland. Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, Rockland.
