Gladys Elizabeth "Dutchie"  Mitchell (Moreash)
CUSHING, MAINE – Gladys E. ‘Dutchie’ Mitchell, 74, died February 22, 2017 at the Sussman House in Rockport.

Born in New London, Connecticut, February 2, 1943, she was one of 13 children of Fred and Ruth Politti Moreash. She attended schools in the New London area.

May 23, 1988, she married Stephen Mitchell in Stonington, Connecticut. A very sociable person, Dutchie loved to be in the sun and at the beach, spending time with her grandchildren. She was very talented, loved art, drawing and painting. More recently she also enjoyed doing puzzles.

Other than her parents, Dutchie was pre-deceased by three siblings, Eddie Moreash, Fred Moreash and Patricia Young. She is survived by her husband, Stephen of Cushing; two sons and their wives, Gary Williams and his companion Lois of Westerly, RI, David and Ginger Williams of Exeter, RI; four daughters and their husbands, Laura and John Shell of Seabeck, Washington, Lana Williams and her companion Danny, Kimberly Fells and her husband Anthony all of Ledyard, CT, Annette and Adam Kennedy of Cushing; three step-children and spouses, Alana and Ron Cota, Patricia McNally all of Grotton, CT and Deborah and Ron Miller of Gales Ferry, CT; siblings Harold Moreash of Ledyard, CT, Anna Mae Biel of Youngstown, Ohio, Shirley Jones of Sumter, NC; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 28th at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic, CT. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday March 1st at Elm Grove Cemetery, 197 Greenmanville Ave, Mystic, CT.
