Obituary for Thomas Lawry

ROCKLAND – Thomas S. Lawry, 60, died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Sussman House in Rockport after a period of declining health.

Born in Rockland, October 8, 1956, he was the son of Milton W. and Kathleen R. Proctor Lawry. Educated in local schools he was a 1974 graduate of Rockland District High School.

Thomas worked at several jobs before beginning employment with FMC Corporation in Rockland, where he worked more than 20 years. More recently he was employed with Oak Island Seafood until retiring due to ill health in 2012.

In earlier years, he enjoyed bowling on local leagues and playing on men’s softball leagues.

Thomas was an extremely generous man, always willing to help his friends and neighbors whenever he could.

Other than his parents, Thomas was pre-deceased by a brother, Charlie Lawry in 2015. He is survived by two sons, Thomas Lucier and his wife Dawn, Jesse Lucier; brother, William L. Lawry; a sister, Ruth N. Gagnon all of Rockland; grandchildren, Brianna, Mazlyn, Morgan, Tylar and Mkayla, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2016, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, where a celebration of Thomas’ life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday. A reception will follow from noon to 2:00 pm at the Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt American Legion Post No. One, 336 Limerock Street, Rockland. Spring interment will be in Achorn Cemetery, Rockland.
