Now I know how you felt that January day in 1982 when you took me to Portland and put me on a plane bound for San Francisco, you thinking I'd never come home. My heart is broken knowing I'll never see you again in this life. But I know you're still with me; I see your strength and beauty in my daughters, and I feel your grace and warmth when I hold the hand of my beautiful wife. I love you, Mum, and am at peace knowing we shall be together again someday.
