Obituary for Harper Sue-Ann Wallace

Harper Sue-Ann Wallace
On January 6, 2016, Harper Sue-Ann Wallace, newborn infant daughter of Shawn and Salina Wallace, earned her angel wings. We eagerly anticipated more joy and peace in this world when the announcement of her pending arrival was made several months ago. God knew her and loved her as well, long before we knew her. As she grew and her arrival date came closer, she let us know she wanted to see the world. Harper was energetic, full of vigor and spunk, and never hesitated to remind her mother Salina how quickly she was growing and eager to arrive. Her paternal grandparents, Leon Wallace and Deidre Wallace, both of Union, ME, and maternal grandfather Steven Carriere of Sanford, ME, Elena and Drew Searles of Sanford, ME, along with big sisters Addison Lincoln, Destinee Lincoln, and Sydne Wallace, and many more family members, were all looking forward to the opportunity to look into her beautiful bright eyes and see her beautiful smile, watch her first steps, and hear her first words. Grandpa Carriere definitely planned on making sure she knew how to bleed Red Sox blood, live the Patriot Way, and say Tom Brady’s name!! Yet for some unknown reason, before she took her first breath, walked her first steps, and said her first words, God needed Harper before we did. And so on 6 January she departed to be one of his newest amazing and beautiful angels in heaven.
In a world filled with hate, war, crime, anger, and destruction, she neither experienced, nor saw, any part of this. And for that we are extremely grateful. Many family members, friends, hospital staff, co-workers, and the gracious personnel and counseling staff at Penobscot Bay Medical Center, including Kate Lydon, spent an amazing amount of time with Harper and her family. Everyone was selflessly offered love, comfort, blessings, peace, and prayers as Harper’s journey to heaven soon neared. We captured so many loving moments in beautiful and tasteful pictures that will leave lasting memories for so many who loved Harper, thanks to Emmie Jones and her amazing camera work. As the time drew near for Harper to travel to Heaven, she experienced the warmth and glow of a beautiful sunshine and fresh air, basking in the glory of her outside surroundings with her parents and grandparents. Walker Hutchins then lovingly and delicately took Harper through the beautiful harbor and surrounding community of Rockland, on her way to be cared for by the staff of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, her last stop on earth before assuming her rightful place in God’s heavens with all of the other beautiful angels.
Harper is survived by her loving parents, Shawn and Salina (Carriere) Wallace of Union Me; her paternal grandparents Leon Wallace and Deidre Wallace of Union, ME; her paternal grandfather Steven Carriere, and Elena and Drew Searles of Sanford, ME; great-grandfathers Paul Doherty of Union, ME, Melvin Wallace of Friendship, ME, and Jack Temple of Bangor, ME; great grandmother Anna Gay Sellars of Damariscotta, ME; aunts Jana Doherty of Waldoboro, ME, and Alicia Carriere of Malden, MA, and many, many great aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Wallace, Doherty, Carriere, Miller, Temple, and Nickels families living in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maryland, California, and Minnesota.
Services for Harper will be held at Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 30 Sherer Lane, Rockland ME, on Friday, the 15th of January, at 6 PM, with Pastor Mike Ferland officiating.
