The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Gene Drinkwater can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

So long pal.

Coach Cleats. My friend. I'm gonna miss you, alot. I wish I had been able to see more of you these past few years but the distance made that not to be. I met you a long time ago when you and Art and the other guys from Spruce Head would let me hang around when Oram brought me down to the Village to play basketball at Tripp's and other places. You guys overlooked my lack of ability and accepted me as a friend.

later on it was Pee Wee Football, and hanging out on the sidelines and riding the buses to the games your first year of coaching Fighting Tiger Football, even when I probably had no business being there other than you and Rick and Jimmy were my friends. It was a great year, despite the lack of wins.

Coach's Corner's at Rick's, sitting around the table at you and Janet's house and of course trips to Miller's Restaurant in Bangor to see how much damage could do to the buffet always saving the "blue jello" for last.

All those memories aside, I will treasure your friendship the most. So long Geno, see you on the other side . We'll have a mug up and a Coach's Corner maybe.

The Commish (Ron)
