Dear Karen Beth and Amy, I am so sorry for the loss of Rick. You both know that we all were like family for many years while on Matinicus of which I have such fond memories which I hold very dear to my heart. Only the two of you truly know what I mean and how involved our families were together. In recent years I had the excellent opportunity to get to know Rick in a whole new way and as the summers past by we became closer and closer. I just want you both to know how truly saddened I am that he was taken from us way too early. Your brother touched many people's lives and I am so very glad to have been fortunate enough to have been one of them. I hope you find peace in knowing that he did not suffer a long dragged out illness as so many often do. I care for you both and miss those wonderful days of our youth and spending them together on Matinicus. With warm regards for you both, Reed
