TENANTS HARBOR - Nadina Katherine Knisch, 67, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
Born in Atlantic City, NJ, March 20, 1955, she was the daughter of Boris and Zinaida Knisch. She grew up with her parents and grandmother on the family poultry farm in Estell Manor, NJ. Nadina attended the local schools and graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1973.
She went on to pursue a nursing career by attending college at Boston University and working as a License Practical Nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital. Ultimately completing her education at Rutgers University. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing and Chemistry. After college she continued her life passion by helping people as a Registered Nurse at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, for 25 years. After Hahnemann, she worked in various roles in the health care industry in PA, NJ, and Maine until her retirement in 2018.
Nadina and her husband Christopher Caffrey were married on September 19, 1998. After many years together, in 2014, they decided to move to Maine with their loyal Corgi, Bob.
She enjoyed many things this world had to offer including; reading, travel, music, cooking, working the soil, crafting, and sharing both the good and the hard times with family and friends. She was a kind, caring, compassionate, principled, loving, intelligent, and fun person. She thought many times of others before she thought of herself. She will be missed by all that came into her life including her rescue dog, Ivy.
Other than her parents, Nadina is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Christopher Caffrey; her brother-in-law, Michael Caffrey and wife Eileen Unger; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
