AUGUSTA - Pamela J. Randall, 45, died following a lifelong battle with Diabetes, Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn.
Born in Rockland, August 9, 1965, she was the daughter of Eugene and Marsha Wall Bracy. She was educated locally and was a 1982 graduate of Georges Valley High School.
Following high school Pam worked for Yankee Magazine and later as a secretary for EJ Prescott. She went on to work for Sweetser in Topsham, where she did rehabilitation for adults with disabilities. This led Pam down her chosen career path, and she attended the University of Maine at Augusta, earning her four-year Bachelors Degree in Psychology in just three years, with honors.
Pam was an active volunteer for victims of sexual assault and was awarded the Governors Award for her work.
Music was a big part of her life, and she greatly enjoyed listening to it. Arts and crafts, designing stained glass and dream catchers were favorite pastimes. She loved the water and going for walks on the beach, combing for sea glass and shells.
Pam's family said; "When Pam had her good days, she was full of life, energy and spunk, and enjoyed living life to the utmost. She had a way about herself, that no matter how she may have felt physically or mentally the day before, she didn't constantly dwell on it. She had a lot of strength and always smiled the day after."
Pam is survived by her mother and step-father, Marsha and Scott Rome of Port Clyde; her husband Gary Randall of South Monmouth; her son Joseph Eugene McCarthy of Foxboro, Massachusetts; her sisters, Paula J. Bracy Banta of North Monmouth, Julia Bracy Largy and her husband, Alan of Thomaston; a step-sister Stacy Rome Burnett of Thomaston; a step-brother Nicholas Rome and his wife, Beth of Hancock; her grandmother Virginia K. Wall of Tenants Harbor; two uncles, Richard Wall and his wife Malta Lee, Irving 'Skip' Bracy and his wife Jane all of Tenants Harbor; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, where a celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2011. Pastor Greg Twitchell will officiate. Interment will be announced in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Maine Office, 80 Elm Street, Portland, ME 04101, or Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, P.O. Box 819, Lewiston, ME 04240.
