Condolences

Condolence From: Greg and Terri Young • Omaha, Nebraska
Condolence: So many miles separated us all of my life, and I cherish the days I shared with him. Our thoughts and prayers are always with you both then and today. I know God will soon learn to play the jug and the tub and there will be dancing in Heaven tonight. I'm sorry the miles stand between us again today. Our thoughts and prayers are always with you both then and today. I love you and will miss you Grandpa.

Condolence From: Erik and Michelle Jura • Cushing
Condolence: Percy has been a friend of ours for many years. Although we had not seen him for awhile, he was still in our thoughts. We have many good memories of Friday nights playing poker with him and the others. Percy always had a smile on his face and was always a gentleman. His kindness, compassion and giving was well known to those he called friends. Rest easy my friend, and when you see Phillip tell him we miss him, as we will miss you.

Condolence From: Butch Burns • Augusta, Maine
Condolence: Percy was one of the nicest and most personable people that I have ever known.
Percy was always there for so many people, including myself. A rare quality as Percy was always eager and wanted to help those in need, even people that he did not know.
Over the years Percy shared many experiences of his earlier years, as well as historical knowledge of the Rockland area. I really enjoyed the conversations we had and hearing the stories that he shared.
Stories such as his coastal watch days during WWII, as well as his real early years that he spent as a cook for hunting parties in the Maine woods.
Percy's door was always open when I would drop by unexpectantly. Often this would lead to my staying at his home for a few days and "crashing" on his couch.
During these times we played many games of cribbage where Percy exhibited great cunning and skill.
Over the last several years I kept telling myself that I was going to Belfast to visit Percy, but never followed through. Now how I regret it...
I hope that Percy knew how much I admired him and how much respect I had for him. I don't think that I ever told him that.
Percy was a true friend and one in a million...

Condolence: I played Bingo with Percy and played the piano for him at Tall Pines. He was always such a joy to talk with. He was always smiling. I'll miss seeing him on my visits there.

Condolence From: Paul Clark • Texas
Condolence: I am glad he lived such a long and fulfilling life. I worked with him many years ago at Crie's Hardware and he was a wonderful person to work with and popular with all the employees there. Quite a character! Liked by all the staff and a friend to all. A good man.
