CAMDEN - Walter A. Ulshoefer, Jr., 80, died Friday, December 17, 2004, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center.
He served his country with honor during World War II in both Italy and France as a Staff Sergeant with the United States Army, 3rd Infantry Division.
Walter had a long career in public education as a school administrator.
He was an active member of Rotary and was recognized by that organization as a "Paul Harris Fellow".
Walter is survived by his loving family including, his wife, Jean A. of Camden; four daughters, Marianne Hendrix and her family of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Elizabeth Davis and her family of Virginia Beach, VA, Amy and Laura Ulshoefer of Wrightsville Beach, NC; his brother, John Ulshoefer of Basking Ridge, NJ.
A private service and burial will be held at Maine Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Penobscot Bay Medical Center, c/o Northeast Health, 22 White Street, Rockland, ME 04841 or Camden First Aid Association, P.O. Box 368, Camden, ME 04843.
