Condolence: Dear Deborah, Dear Peter, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of David. I remember him very well, he cook some lobster for me at your home, and we had good fun together despite my bad english. His smile and kindness still in my mind. You have my deepest, sincerest sympathy and my thoughts are with you and all your family. Love. Veronique

Condolence: David was a hero. I met him over 30 years ago, as I recall. He was a gentleman in every way, he knew how to treat people in any capacity he held. His presence was never replaced, his respect for people was a glowing attribute without any doubt. I apologize for not attending his funeral but unfortunately I had a conflicting schedule. Having been able to visit David a few times recently, thanks to John Root, I could only question why would this happen to such a great guy? I certainly hope there are some flowers in the fields of his eternity as I reflect on the article Steve Betts wrote when David retired. His family is missing a big "link" but David did his best with the utmost respect, I wish his journey be safe. Dale Hayward

Condolence From: William Butler
Condolence: I first met David when he took over as landfill manager at the Rockland solid waste facility. At that time I was the DEP staff responsible for over-sight of the facility. Overtime, he and I developed a good working relationship which helped improve operations at the facility and provide a good path towards cooperative relations between the City and DEP. Ironically, at the end of December 2015, I took over his position as Assistant Code Enforcement Officer when he retired earlier in the year. I would like to think I have over the past three years honored and carried on his reputation for the position. I can tell you first hand, as I have met people in the field who dealt with him, that he was truly loved and respected. I can not think of any more telling and poignant testimonial than that. As I work in his office, I still sense his presence and know that he is at peace and I hope to continue his good work until I retire. Sincerely and with kind condolences, William Butler

He came to our home on a few occasions, at our request, to answer questions and offer advice. Dave was so down-to-earth, and such a kind man. May God be with you and comfort you as you grieve his passing. Doug and Ellie King

Condolence: When we remember David thoughts of kindness and humor best describe him. The times we visited he was always genuinely welcoming making us feel as we got together often. His humor was awesome and kept us on our toes so we could keep up with that humor. The love between David and Debby was evident as they worked as a team. We feel blessed to have shared some fun visits with David and family. Our pour out to Debby, Peter and all Family and Friends. May you find peace in all the memories. With Love, Henry and Denise
