David was a hero. I met him over 30 years ago, as I recall. He was a gentleman in every way, he knew how to treat people in any capacity he held. His presence was never replaced, his respect for people was a glowing attribute without any doubt. I apologize for not attending his funeral but unfortunately I had a conflicting schedule. Having been able to visit David a few times recently, thanks to John Root, I could only question why would this happen to such a great guy? I certainly hope there are some flowers in the fields of his eternity as I reflect on the article Steve Betts wrote when David retired. His family is missing a big "link" but David did his best with the utmost respect, I wish his journey be safe. Dale Hayward
