Condolence: Almost a year later and it still hurts as much, knowing she's not at school to help the kids. She was an incredibly hard worker and took her job seriously. I loved the fun side of her. How she matched her fluorescent green socks with her top and how she took great care in making her hair and make-up look perfect! She carried an umbrella at recess and I'd always forget mine. I loved hearing her talk about her own kids in the military and when she started having those grandchildren I knew she wouldn't stay away from them for long. I miss everyone at school but she's one that I miss the most. How sad that some students will never get to have her as their teacher. She brightened the room just walking in.

Condolence: I had the pleasure of teaching with Jeannette for several years at South School. I can picture her carrying a clipboard with tons of paperwork, all organized by color, and her pen that always had some decoration on it. She wore colorful and hip outfits, things that the kids loved, like fluorescent green tops and socks that matched. Everyone loved Jeannette. She'd walk down the hall with a huge smile and you'd wonder what she was thinking. She had a soft and quiet manner when teaching or even just speaking to the kids. We had so many little inside jokes to keep us laughing throughout the day. She was such a good sport during our holiday performances, especially ones that involved dancing. She talked about her family, their travels, their jobs, and her grandchildren. She was devoted to them in every way. Even though we were in this small school in this small town, I knew she had a big life and hoped she'd retire in time to spend it with her loved ones. I was devastated when I saw this had been taken away from her and from them. I can tell you how much she loved all of you, how much she talked about you, bursting with pride and how much she was looking forward to her golden years. My heart aches that those years were cut short. I will remember her "fondness" of recess duties, especially in the mist and fog, using a can of hairspray on her hair and carrying her umbrella. I will remember her with a smile. HUGS to her family and friends. Know how much we loved her, too.

Condolence: Dear Spearing family,

My heart is breaking upon hearing of the passing of Jan. I have many wonderful memories of visiting with Jan, Ron and kids when they would visit Hudson in between their many tours.

Condolence: Ronnie and Family,

I hardly know what to say other than I'm so sorry for your loss and heartbreak. Jan was such a beautiful person...we had alot of memories together.
Fighting the blackflies in Hudson to sneak cigarettes, doing tons of dishes at Helen & Joe's,
I even tagged along on one of your first dates!
She was so fortunate to have such a wonderful loving family.
May God bring you comfort and strength in knowing that you're in the thoughts and prayers of so many who care.

Love,

Karen & Charlie Goodell

Condolence: I worked with Jeanette in Rockland at the school and Ralph with Ron in Thomaston. She was always patient and understanding with the students. I looked up to her and could talk to her easily. She was a wonderful woman, and will be missed. Our hearts go out to her family.
