Obituary for Jeannette Elaine Spearing

ROCKLAND - Jeannette Elaine Spearing, 65, peacefully passed in her sleep at her home on Saturday March 24, 2018.
She leaves her husband and best friend of 47 years, Ronald Spearing; her three sons, Joshua and his wife Charmen of Owls Head; Jeremy and his wife Debra of Buffalo, NY, Timothy and his wife Magan of Raeford, North Carolina. Jan was the beloved Nana to eight grandchildren: PJ and his wife Lindsey, Madelyn, Zachary, Noah, Nathanial, Rebecca, Franklin and Samuel.

Born in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey August 20, 1952 where her father was stationed during his Army service, Jan spent her childhood traveling with her parents during her father’s 20 year Military Career until they settled in Hudson, ME. It is here that she met and fell in love with Ron while he was home on leave from the Army. After her graduation from East Corinth Academy, they married on March 12, 1971. She found herself traveling the world once more as she made her way to Okinawa and Japan to join her husband, the first stop on their 24 year journey traveling together during his Army service. Together they moved wherever they were asked around the country and world with their three sons, at each destination no matter how short or long the stay always making it more than a house but a warm home. Upon Ron’s retirement they proudly settled into their home in Rockland where she spent the next 21 years raising her family, while working in the local schools with special needs children, retiring in 2014.

She loved the warm sun and a good book, a long movie that could make you both laugh and cry, and stealing sugar kisses from the necks of her grandbabies, no matter how old they got.

She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Helen Lacrosse. She is survived by her sister Joann Holton of Carmel, brother Roger Lacrosse of Hermon, brother AJ LaCrosse and his wife Ellen of Carmel, and her close nephew Joe Holton of Carmel, as well as many close in-laws, nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all.
