Condolences & Tributes

We encourage you to share any memorable photos or stories about Alma. All tributes placed on and purchased through this memorial website will remain on in perpetuity for future generations.

Alma was such a good neighbor and one I met in 1982 when my husband and I had found this house and Chandler had somehow found out when we were moving in and had cleared the driveway after a bad snowstorm. This allowed the moving van to come in and start unloadeding and we could then
move next door. When we had moved away to Omaha with a newborn and had renters, Alma notified my sister that a kitchen window had been left open and had called my sister who called us. She loved puzzles and remembered birthdays well. She was part of the immediate neighbors "Gourmet Club" when we took turns showing off our cooking skills or going to Boston to Faneul Market to shop. In 1984, we left for several years to 3 military locations and returned in 1992 to this good neighborhood and to renew our friendship. Although I lost track of her when Alma moved to Westbrook, she was always a thoughtful person who remembered birthdays wherever we were as well as Christmas holidays. I have fond memories of visits with her and will miss her.

I remember Alma from when I first moved to Kittery in 1969 after college, she was a pillar of the First Congregational Church at Kittery Point, in charge of the church office and master of the memeograph machine. Alma and Chandler gave a lot to the Church community. A lot of good memories.
