Obituary for Avis Irene Sedgwick
ROCKLAND – Avis Irene Sedgwick, 71, affectionately known as “Addie” died peacefully at Stonehedge Rehab in West Roxbury, MA on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 after a long illness.
She was born August 5, 1946 in Beverly, MA but resided in Rockland, ME most of her life. She was the daughter of Emma P. Hill who is still living and Harold O. Hill who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by one brother Walter C. Hill. Avis is the widow of Linwood P. Sedgwick, Jr. whom she had married in Portsmouth, NH, November 11, 1959. She was a homemaker most of her life but had worked at Holmes Fish Factory and as a nurse’s aide at a local nursing home.
She is the devoted mother to five children, Glen S. Hill and his wife Patricia of Rockport, Maureen Glidden and her husband Dave of Biddeford, Linwood P Sedgwick, III of Rockland, Pamela J. Sedgwick and her husband Patrick Lewis of West Roxbury, MA, Timothy C. Sedgwick of Rockland; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Friends and relatives are invited to her funeral service on February 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
