Magnolia Tree

When I moved into Jameson Point in May of 2003, I looked out my window at the water. I saw a beautiful magnolia tree in full bloom, blocking much of my view. This tree was in Tom and Barbara's side yard. The next time I walked down to the water, I saw Tom in the yard. He asked me how I was doing and I told him everything was going well except for one thing. I told him he needed to remove the tree that was blocking my view. Of course, I was joking, and he knew it. Tom, always the kind and jovial person, had some comments that I cannot remember now, but I do remember that they were very diplomatic yet funny about what I could do with my suggestion. Any time I passed by their unit and he was there I would mention that the tree had not yet been removed and when would it go away. He would always come back with something funny. The tree is still there. I enjoy it especially when in bloom. Now as I see it, I will remember my friend and smile at our long standing friendly confrontation. I will miss him.
