PANAMA CITY, FL – Michael A. Whitman, 53, went to be with the Lord December 30, 2017.

Formerly of South Thomaston, Maine, he resided in Panama City, Florida with wife Alicia Whitman. Mike was a loving husband, father, stepfather, papa, brother, uncle, and friend, with a kind soul and a heart of gold. He lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. His smile was contagious and he never met a stranger. He was humble and kind to all that knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents, Richard A. and Victoria Anastasio Whitman of Rockland, Maine, he is survived by his wife, Alicia Whitman, one son, Kevin Myers, three stepchildren, and nine grandchildren, all of Panama City; three brothers, Richard Whitman, Donald Johnson, and Matthew Whitman, sister Nikki Whitman, as well as nieces and nephews all from Rockland and Thomaston Maine.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2018 at 104 Limerock, Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home’s reception facility. A time of sharing will begin at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Mike’s family is asking that donations in his name be made to Northstar Church, East Bay Campus, 430 West 5th Street, Suite 400, Panama City, FL 32401. Local arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
