THOMASTON - William A. Gould Jr, 67, died peacefully, October 30, 2017 at Sussman House in Rockport after a valiant battle with cancer. William (Bill) spent his last days surrounded by his children.

Born in Boston on March 10,1950, he was the son of the late Norma L. Gould & William A. Gould Sr. He graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and was a member of the United States Air Force.

As a young man, he worked as a groundskeeper at Pine Manor College in Brookline, MA. In 1981, he moved to Rockland to raise his family. He worked for a short time at The Samoset Resort. He went on to work for 29 years at Back Cove Yachts where he was a mentor to many.

Bill loved to read, play music, and loved the Patriots. He was a talented musician who will always be remembered for strumming on his guitar. He had a great love for his family and friends and was known to help anyone in need.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters, Anita J. Coyle and Jeanette M. Gould, and his previous wife, Judith A. White. Bill is survived by his four daughters, Laura A. Gould of Thomaston, Jennifer L. Gould of Rockland, Amy E. Dowler and her husband, Scott of Berwick, Amanda Ware and her husband Rich of Bath; two sons, William R. Gould and his wife, Kera, of Rockland, Zachary Titus; three brothers, Neil Gould and his wife Claire of Milford MA, Michael Gould of San Antonio TX, Jay Gould and his wife Dawn of Wareham MA; brother in law James Coyle of Bellingham MA, 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his former wife, Sheila B. Gould, of Thomaston; several, several nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved dog Rocky.

Family and friends are invited to his service at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. A reception will follow.
