Condolence: I'm truly sorry to learn of Barrett's passing nearly 3 years after it occurred. We were classmates in grade school in Martinsburg, W. Va., but lost touch with each other when I went to a prep school for my high school years. During the summer break between the junior and senior years in high school, we reconnected and spent some time together doing things like taking movies of ourselves (mostly trick shots) doing unusual things. The time that I spent with him gave me a chance to observe what a really fine person Barrett was, and I most certainly regret that I never had a chance to visit him in Rockland, especially since I now live in the Boston area and spend a lot of time during the summer in Ogunquit, Maine. I'm happy to see that Barrett had a full and fulfilling life since that long-ago summer when we re-met, and I want his family to know that, even as a teenager, Barrett could leave me with a good feeling which has lasted all these years!

Condolence: To Barrett's Family,

We just learned of Barrett's passing today when my Christmas Card was returned. We moved to N.Carolina in 2014, but kept in touch. I can't tell you just how much we counted on him, not only for 30+ years of tax preparations, but as a friend. When he started out, his office was in his house. Our taxes would go on for hours and we would talk..about kids, house projects, food, clocks.... I have so many fond memories...Missy coming in to show off her prom dress, his latest projects.... He was a wonderful man who so loved and was so proud of his family. He will be greatly missed.

Condolence: Dear Family of Barrett. We remember you all first at Brackett's Drug Store in Thomaston where we all visited daily. Miss that place. Barrett did our Income Taxes for over 30 years. He was a wonderful caring man, father and friend. We were so sorry to learn of your loss. Unfortunately we missed his service. We have been planning to go all week and just re-read his obituary and discovered it was last weekend. Again so sorry. Cherish all the wonderful memories you have, they will last forever.
Ida and Gary Clarke....you probably don't remember us but we remember you.

Condolence: I had lost track of Barrett, years ago. He was once married to my cousin, Judy, I drove them to get married...many years ago. I always liked Barrett, he was one of the nicest men I ever knew. I am very sorry to hear that he is gone. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Condolence From: Tim and Lynn Rawley
Condolence: We're so sorry to hear of the passing of Barrett. Our relation started out with Barrett doing our taxes in the early 80's and throughout the years turned into a wonderful relationship. We had an appointment with Barrett every Valentine's Day to do our taxes. We never just dropped our taxes off to be done, we also enjoyed each other's company for 2 or 3 hours, turning into a day of lots of fun. He loved talking about his old home, his passion for trains and his family. We had our good times with Barrett and we were there for a very sad time in his life, the passing of Nicholas. We still have a sailboat Barrett made, one we bid on at one of the Scholarship fund raisers. One thing we loved about Barrett was his smile, his laugh and his sense of humor. Only Barrett could make it fun to have your taxes done. We will miss him tremendously. Our Prayers, Our Hearts and Our Love go out to you all. Tim & Lynn Rawley

Condolence: My dearest condolences to Barrett's children and grandchildren. He was my "father-in-law" at one point and literally the sweetest guy on the planet. My children Michael and Logan were in tears this evening when they found out. He became their grandfather from the time they were born even though he didn't have to and was the only good male role model they had growing up. He leaves behind a lot of people who love him and will truly miss him. We are all better from having known him. ~Emily
