Condolence From: Wally Hall
Condolence: Dear friends and family of Coach Maz: I had the privilege of playing football under Coach Maz at Central Catholic High School during his tenure as Coach. Coach Maz has a special place in my memories as the encouragement and support he provided helped me to continue playing football.
Being 5'4" tall, and weighing 135 pounds with my shoes on, I was not the ideal candidate for high school football. Coach Maz kind of looked after me, always encouraging me to stick it out. His belief that I could do it if I wanted enough and tried hard enough was a lesson that has helped me through many difficult situations in life.
The graduating class of 1968 from Central Catholic High School just celebrated our 50th reunion. Many of the men who played under Coach Maz shared fond memories of how he "motivated "us to be the best we could be.
Thanks Coach Maz for being a part of our lives.

Condolence: Dear Mazurek family,
My dad, Clifford Burkett was RDHS principal in 1975 and 1976. He liked and highly respected "Coach". Dad passed away last month, so I am writing this for him. Our family greatly appreciates Ed's lifelong service to the students at RDHS and to the whole community. We pray that God will comfort your hearts and fill your minds with the most wonderful memories every day.

Condolence: Just a little over a month ago, at his grandson Ryan's birthday party, I was sitting on the deck at Ed's son's house watching the young folks swimming and enjoying the water. Ed really enjoyed watching them. I guess Grandpa's sometimes get into a philosophical mood when watching youngsters and we began to talk about the most important things in life. Ed told me how it felt the first time he walked onto the field for the NY Giants. He said it was a thrill he'd never forget. We agreed that the feelings and memories were the important things in life, not money or possessions. You can lose all your money, but the joy and happiness that family and friends bring will last a lifetime.

I'll always remember that day and how much Ed loved his family. He certainly had learned some good life lessons and knew what was really important.

I'll miss Ed.
