I was sorry to hear of Ed's passing. Having not seen him in over 30 years, it still brought tears to my eyes. As a high school junior he pushed me into situations I was uncomforatble with and then went on to show me life was about Team and not individuals, and as a team anything was possible. He always had my back and believed in me both on and off the field. I learned so many life lessons from the football program he was resposible for. I have done my best to pass those lessons onto my family and the kids I been able to coach. I know many people may remember Ed for his numerous accomplishments after his teaching days were over, but to me - and I dare say to all who were privileged to play for him - he will always be Coach Maz. One of the wonderful people that God placed on my path in life.
May he rest in peace.
