Obituary for Roberta Lee "Robyn" Rezendes (Delano)

OWLS HEAD – Robyn L. Rezendes, 68, died Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, October 4, 1949, she was one of three children of Bernard and Jean E. Delano. At the age of 13, she moved to Freetown, Massachusetts, where she lived until moving to Thomaston. She was a graduate of Georges Valley High School. Robyn later earned and Associated Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine.

As one of the first people hired at the first WalMart in Rockland, Robyn worked at that store more than 18 years and for the longest period as a Lead Clerk in the Cash Office.

February 13, 1988, Robyn married Robert T. Rezendes at Owls Head. The couple’s first home was in Rockland. They lived several years in Warren, a brief time again in Rockland and in 1999 moved to Owls Head, where they have since resided.

Robyn was a voracious reader, particularly of Stephen King works. She loved flower gardening and her cats, ‘Magic’ and ‘Roo’.

Pre-deceased by her parents, Robyn is survived by her husband Robert of Owls Head; two sons, Joseph Delano and his companion Tammy of Spruce Head, Jeremy Delano and his companion Yvonne Gagne of Warren; five grandchildren, Danielle and her husband Stephen Ames, Alexis Delano, Logan Delano, Jaya Ames and Stryker Ames; as well as extended family members and friends.

No services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland, ME 04841.
