Warren Dorr Sr.
ROCKLAND – Warren E. Dorr, Sr., 84, died peacefully, surrounded by his large loving family, Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Knox Center for Long Term Care.

Born in Milbridge, October 3, 1932, he was one of six children born to Warren K. and Lucretia Crocker Dorr. Educated first in Southern Maine, Warren moved with his family to Rockland where he attended Rockland High School.

Entering the workforce at an early age, he was employed with Brittos Market before beginning his career in Auto Sales. He worked for several mid-coast dealerships including, SeaView Chev. Garage, Drewetts Rambler, Mike Cramer VW and Howard Stetson Saab.

On November 19, 1960 Warren married Barbara Jonason of Tenants Harbor, in Rockland. Together they have lived between Florida and Maine their entire married life. With the Mid-Coast always feeling like home for Warren, he was active in many civic actives in the Rockland area. He was instrumental in the beginning Lobster Festivals and Parades, serving as president for several years, and was active with the Jaycee’s and the Lions Club.

Warren was an avid woodworker and worked tirelessly to finish three different homes for his family over the years. He loved cars, restoring an antique convertible, watching racing on TV and even driving his own stock car at one point.

Traveling was another favorite pastime, and he especially enjoyed the many cruises he took with his wife. Spending time with his family was his number one priority and he did everything he could to provide for them.
