Obituary for Elise Dorr

Elise Dorr
BELFAST – Elise Dale Dorr, 4, August 28, 2017. Elise showed us all her unique nature since the day she was born. She was born earlier then her due date; Virginia had gone into labor after she sent her husband to the store for dinner. Elise was born in fifteen minutes in the downstairs bathroom of their home and has since continued to be unique in her own path. Her striking red hair and big blue eyes always looking at you with love and joy. She brought joy and light to all around her with her energy and enthusiasm for everything. She loved spending time with family and had a deep love for all of nature and even thought worms are cute. She was a prayerful angel that often stated, “Jesus is my friend.” She was the first to say at the dinner table that we need to thank God for our meal and loved talking about creation and Noah and the animals.

Elise was the third child and broke the mold and she had everyone she knew wrapped around her finger doing everything and anything she wanted day and night.

Elise liked to go fishing with her Dad, sisters, Auntie Meahgan and her Papa. Elise enjoyed swimming with her parents and sisters as well as grandparents, playing games with her family, winning at UNO almost every time and dressing up with Elizabeth and Evelyn. She loved to take selfies with her big sister Elizabeth and Evelyn and make video clips for surprises for her Mom and Dad. Shopkins and little people were some of her favorite toys along with Barbies. She loved her bikes, one her Mimi and Bampie bought her and another bought by her parents good friends, She loved hoola-hooping, spending time with her father playing games and reading about dinosaurs. He taught her how to draw; she was an artist like her father, uncle Troy and sister Evelyn. She spent hours in the backyard with her mother working on the garden they kept together. She loved building things with Legos, and daily playing Minecraft with her sisters. Every time Elise would go to her Mimi and Bampies house she would spend hours running in their backyard yelling “watch this guys!!” and “come do cartwheels with me mom and dad”. Elise loved spending time with Bampie in the garage sorting through nuts and bolts while he worked on his truck. She loved sitting on the porch with her family watching the birds and giving them all names. Elise also enjoyed sleepovers with her Grammie and with her Papa and her sisters. She loved shopping with her sisters and Grammie, going to her great grandparent’s camp, boating with her family and having cookouts with family and friends every weekend. She loved skyping with her father while he worked and would sleep with her mother most nights. Elise enjoyed picking flowers where ever she was and always said her Mimi’s flowers smelled the best. She enjoyed many things in her short life. Every day was filled with fun and love, she would always put on other family members’ shoes and walk around like she was them. She loved going to the state parks for hikes with her family, the beach playing on her boogie board and the playground with her family and friends. She enjoyed her books, loved reading with her mother and Father at night, her recent favorite book is “On the First Day of Kindergarten” by: Tish Rabe. The last video her mother took was of her reading this book for her father. She loved school very much excited to go each day and couldn’t wait to be a big kid in kindergarten this year. She loved receiving mail from family but always looked forward to her Aunty Shanna’s packages. Elise’s family members all had different nicknames for her from Pumpkin-pie, My Love, Boo, Lisey Lou, Boo-bear, Peanut, Squeaky, Baby-doll, Red, Ginger, Doll-face and Mama’s Little Love. That’s who she was and what she did with everyone and everything. She adored her cat, Ash- he would sleep with her every night curled under the blankets with her. Elise loved feeding her fish which she gave three names, “Fish was first, then Anna and last Nokieo”. Elise loved spending time with Pudditat, her Mimi and Bampie’s cat and their dog Jayzee who she is also with now. She enjoyed her grandmother’s dogs Jessie and Bear who Elise and her sisters picked from the litter. She loved all cats. Elise loved spending time with her cousins swimming and building sand castles. Even though her aunty Shanna and uncle Richard and cousins lived far away Elise’s love shinned down to them and theirs back to her.

Elise also loved watching her uncle Billy play guitar and her first guitar was a gift from him. She would strum the guitar and sing songs for her Grammie. She loved to dance and sing and perform for everyone, and at the young age of four did humorous imitations of her family members. One of her absolute favorite bands was Florida Georgia Line. She was so looking forward to starting dance “ballet” this year and we know she is dancing with the angels (and probably telling them what to do) to her Nutcracker and Frozen songs, and singing praises to our God.

Elise was one of a kind and will be deeply missed this is a devastating tragedy. Elise was loved by so many! Her family will always be missing the biggest little person who made her own path which they all followed.

1 Corinithians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
