SEATTLE, WA - Our sweet mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Neva May Cuthbertson Heath, left us after a brief illness on June 2, 2017 surrounded by family and friends in Seattle, WA where she had moved in 2014 to be near her oldest daughter Carole. Neva, or NeNe as she was affectionately called by her grandmother, was born on May 20, 1933 in Belfast, Maine to Leota and Charles Cuthbertson. Neva enjoyed growing up with her sister Patsy and spending time after school at the pharmacy that her parents owned. She graduated from Rockland High School in 1951.

In 1955, Neva married George Heath, whom she met while they both were working at the Thorndike Hotel in Rockland. They made their home in Rockland and raised four children. Neva, who stayed home to take care of the family, was an excellent cook and seamstress; her handiwork included quilts, afghans and beautiful knit sweaters. After her husband died suddenly in 1985, Neva went to work first at the Courier Gazette and then at Pen Bay Medical Center as an admissions clerk. After retiring in 1995, she continued to enjoy her craft work, listening to music, cooking, exploring the internet, and traveling both with and to see her children.

Neva is predeceased by her husband George and her sister Patricia Hill. She is survived by her four children Carole (Kris Anderson), Linda (Sherman Smith), David (Drago Davidovic), and Suzy (Kip Temm), seven grandchildren Malcolm, Georgia, Amelia, Steven, Alex, Cara and Nathan, two sisters-in-law Shirlene Gosline and Arlene Harper, many nieces and nephews, and lots of friends on both coasts.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 15 Wesley Lane, off Route 17, Rockland. The Reverend Ann Roundy will officiate. A reception and Celebration of Neva's life will follow from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, at The Landings Restaurant, 1 Commercial Street, Rockland.
