Obituary for Albert Vanorse

ROCKLAND - Albert L. Vanorse, 91, died Friday, May 5, at Knox Center for Long Term Care, after a brief illness.
Albert was born October 24, 1925, the son of Ada and Peter Vanorse.

Albert was educated in Rockland Schools. He served two years in the US Army stationed in Germany as a medical aidman. For many years he worked for Bud Compton delivering propane. He also worked at the Rockland IGA until his retirement. Albert was a communicant of St. Bernards Catholic Church.

Predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Mary; brothers, Bert and Joe Vanorse; nephew, Wayne Vanorse; Albert is survived by three daughters, Beverly Foster of Georgia, Maryjane Rytky and her husband Bill of Rockland, Donna Culbertson and her husband David of Rockland; a son David Vanorse and his wife Nancy of Rockland; three granddaughters whom he was very proud of, Bethany Vanorse of St. George, Heidi Vanorse Neal and her husband Joel of Rockland, and Katy Vanorse of Thomaston; and one great-granddaughter Natalie Vanorse of St. George. He also had a special daughter, Tracy Taylor.

During Albert’s few years at the Knox Center, he made some specials friends, Barbie, Angie, Jo, Cindy and many more who took wonderful care of him.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 12, 2017 at Coughlin Memorial Cemetery, Rankin Street, Rockland.

In lieu of flowers , donations made be made to the Pope Memorial Humane Society, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland, Maine 04841.
