Obituary for Brett Alan Bodman

CUSHING - Brett Alan Bodman, 44, passed away unexpectedly at his home in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
Born in Rockland, October 25, 1972, he was the son of Susan and Arthur Kiskila. In his early childhood years some knew him as ‘Bump’ or ‘Chunk’. Raised in Rockland, he attended local schools. Growing up he enjoyed doing many things, including riding his bike all over town - whether it was down Main Street or down to the wharfs. He enjoyed doing anything he could do to earn spending money, such as working with local fisherman, cleaning boats, sweeping the decks, or many other things. He often spoke of fun times with his childhood friends and family and the adventures that life took him on. He loved to share his memories with anyone that would listen whether it was memories he made playing sports, out to sea, or memories he made with friends and family. Brett loved many things like his mother’s pickled beets, BBQ chips, Pepsi or Coca-Cola, Ben & Jerry's cookie dough ice cream.
In 1998 Brett married Michelle Collins, the mother of his beloved children, his daughter Brianna Bodman and his son Brandon Bodman. Brett always expressed the true love he had for his children and of how proud he was of them both. He also loved spending every moment he could with them either at the local race tracks, the kids sporting events, on the islands, or simply riding around in the truck. He enjoyed his morning routine of grabbing a coffee and riding down to the wharf to talk with friends. He had a special love for his Dodge truck. Throughout his life he had many of passions including being a fisherman, tow truck driver, plowing snow, racing cars or helping on pit crews and being a Volunteer Firefighter.
He is survived by his parents Susan and Arthur Kiskila of Cushing, daughter Brianna Bodman, son Brandon Bodman, mother of his children Michelle Collins, all of Thomaston, brother Leslie Bodman and wife Danielle Bodman of Rockland, cousin Timothy Bodman and partner Deirdre Wall of South Thomaston, nieces Tasha Bodman and Hannah Bodman and other extended family.
Please join our family on Sunday April 30th 2017 at Snow Marine Park in Rockland at 3:30pm to say farewell and share memories of Brett’s life.
