Condolences & Tributes

We encourage you to share any memorable photos or stories about Bernard. All tributes placed on and purchased through this memorial website will remain on in perpetuity for future generations.

I will miss Mr. Jacksons stories I remember weeding the flower gardens with Mrs. Jackson. The sweater set she made my first born daughter. In the winter seeing Mr. Jackson out on his Ford tractor snow blowing the drive was. I'd always ride my four wheeler or motorcycle to visit with him.

What a privilege it was to grow up as a neighbor of Bernard and Doris and be friends with their kids. I am very saddened and want to express my most sincere condolences to Bernard's family at their loss.

I have nothing but the fondest of memories of Bernard. My late father admired and trusted Bernard's mechanical skills so much that he would not allow any other mechanic to touch his tractor. Once my dad called Bernard's old employers to have him come down and make some repair on dad's tractor. My dad was told that Bernard had retired. He responded with, "I don't care. I want Bernard. I'm not letting anyone else touch my tractor." Of course, the decent and understanding man that was Bernard showed up a short time later. Fixed the tractor and then sat for a long chat over a cup of coffee and piece of pie with my parents.

People like that are getting harder to find and it is a sad day when one such good man as Bernard passes away.

Lee, Carol & Steve, you are not alone in your sadness at this very difficult time. Your dad was a wonderful man and he was so very proud of you all. We were all very blessed to have known your dad.

I worked with Jack for many years at Payson-Allen and he was always so kind to me. Almost every day, he would ask me, "How do you like it as far as you've been?" The question was always asked with a half smile. He was also my neighbor for a few years and we had many back yard, over the fence visits. A lovely man who will be missed by all who knew him. My deepest sympathy to Jack's family.
