Obituary for Robert Henry Lavoie

Robert Henry Lavoie
Robert H. Lavoie, 74, went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2017 at the Sussman House in Rockport after a brief illness. Bob was born August 5, 1942 in Brunswick, to Robert & Ethel Hutchinson Lavoie.
Bob attended Rockland High School and graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in 1975. He worked over the years as a Deputy with the Knox County Sheriff’s Department and served as the Chief of Police in Thomaston.
For the last 25 years, Bob worked alongside his wife Dolly Hall in the antique business. Bob enjoyed working at their shop, Hall’s Antiques, on Main Street in Rockland, and visiting with many friends and customers that would stop by.
Bob was an active member of the Tenants Harbor Baptist Church where he readily volunteered wherever there was a need. He will be greatly missed by his church family and the men in the weekly Men’s Bible Study.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, and brother, Edwin Lavoie. He is survived by his wife Dolores (Dolly) Hall of Thomaston; a sister Agnes Eagen of Rockland; a son David Lavoie and his companion Stephanie Pinkham of Pittston; grandchildren Aaron, Shane, Taylor Lavoie and great-grandson, Jace. Bob is also survived by a daughter Lynnette Lavoie and her companion Chris Guilford of Vinalhaven; grandson Devin Walker; and Bob’s former wife Sandra Lavoie; Dolly’s sons Fred Mank and his family of Waldoboro, Tony Mank and his family of Chandler Arizona and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to the Tenants Harbor Baptist Church, P.O. Box 228, Tenants Harbor Maine 04860.
A memorial service to remember Bob will be held on Saturday, March 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the Tenants Harbor Baptist Church in Tenants Harbor.
