Norma Angelyn  Lloyd (MacDonald)
VINALHAVEN – Norma A. Lloyd, 95, a lifelong island resident, died peacefully, Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Ivan Calderwood Homestead.
Born at Vinalhaven, September, 26, 1921, she was the daughter of Ira L. and Elsie Brown MacDonald. Educated in local schools, she was a 1940 graduate of Vinalhaven High School.
September 7, 1940, she married Wilfred R. ‘Mouse’ Lloyd.
For more than 25 years, Norma worked as a clerk at the Vinalhaven News Stand, where she enjoyed interacting and sharing ‘the news’ with all the customers.
She was a member of Pleasant View Grange and the Union Church, where she taught Sunday school more than 25 years.
She enjoyed knitting and craft work.
Norma was predeceased by her parents, husband and one grandson. She is survived by one daughter, Karen York and her husband Ladd of Vinalhaven; two sisters, Marjorie Greenlaw of Camden, Margurite Mills of Vinalhaven; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service at Browns Head Cemetery will be announced in the spring.
Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, Rockland.
