Condolence: Mr Snow was an important mentor for me. He taught me to love language and service. He was our advisor on the school newspaper and I came back from the Coast Guard Academy to teach him how to work the offset machine. I still love Melville and Dana because of his influence. I wish the best for his wonderful family. -jack g

Condolence: Condolences to the Jack's family. Growing up on Home Avenue, Middletown CT, with Jack's kids, there was no mistaking his granite-strength core. Whom else did we know who could bring a lobster boat back to berth in thick fog, quote from J.D. Salinger, occasionally wear his leather pilot's jacket with an air of mystery, and apply bemused stoicism to snow-storm lengthened drives in a car full of teenagers for a weekend of skiing in the Green Mountains? Jack may not have driven a fancy car on his high-school English teacher's salary, but held the secrets of the world in his tiller hand as he guided his aluminum skiff to low-tide islet shores, quiet with his thoughts and the gulls' cries, as he navigated the Maine sea scape that he loved, and shared. Jack will be missed, and remembered.

Condolence: I am so sorry to read of Jack's passing. Fifty years ago Jack took me and my sister with him out lobstering....and I have treasured that memory and visiting Pat and Jack for all this time. Praying that God holds the whole Snow clan in his hands as you grieve your loss. With my deepest sympathy, Wende Newton Walsh
