PORT CLYDE – Alice B. Belancik, 98, died Saturday, December 31, 2016, at the Sussman House in Rockport, after suffering a massive stroke December 23rd.

Born in Bath, August 1, 1918, she was one of 5 children of Andrew C. and Izetta Robbins Breen. After moving to Port Clyde with her family at the age of two, she attended local schools and was a 1936 graduate of St. George High School.

In 1942, she began employment at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, Connecticut, where she worked 21 years retiring as a Shortage Clerk.

In 1961, Alice married Andrew Belancik at Manchester, CT. The couple lived in Manchester until returning to Port Clyde following Alice’s retirement.

She enjoyed several ocean cruises.

Besides her parents and her husband, Alice was pre-deceased by 3 siblings, Lucy Mae Fuller, Gertrude Benner and Lloyd Breen. She is survived by one sister Nancy Sherman and her husband Clifford of Port Clyde, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Private family services are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. Private interment will be in South Parish Cemetery, Martinsville.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. George Ambulance and Firefighters Assn., P.O. Box 249, Tenants Harbor, ME 04860.
