Obituary for Kenneth James McLeod

Kenneth James McLeod
DAMARISCOTTA – Kenneth J. McLeod, 89, longtime Rockland resident, began his new life in Heaven with his Savior, Monday, December 5, 2016 while in the care of those he considered as his family, at Hodgdon Green in Damariscotta.

Ken was born August 4, 1927 in Waldoboro, the son of Russell and Jessie Black McLeod. He graduated from Waldoboro High School as Class President and Valedictorian of the Class of 1945.

For more than 40 years Ken enjoyed his work as a land developer, which ultimately provided homes for many people.

For more than 45 years, he was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Rockland, where he served on several boards. He often said the gift that God gave him was helping those in need. He focused on missionaries and sending young men and women to Christian colleges, universities and to other countries to further their education. He was always behind the scenes ready to help.

Predeceased by his parents and his brother Russell, Ken is survived by his other family members and friends who include the loving staff at Hodgdon Green.

At Ken’s request and in keeping with his humility, no services will be held.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
