CUSHING - Patricia Frances Gardner, 81, passed away on November 9th, 2016 in Cushing.
Born November 30, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of James and Bernice Mansfield. On May 15th, 1954, she married Patrick John Gardner in Evanston, IL. They moved to Ottumwa, IA where they raised their family before moving to Peaks Island, ME in 1982.
Patricia worked as a newborn nurse at The Cradle in Evanston prior to her marriage, and as a veterinary assistant at Barnes Animal Hospital in Ottumwa. On Peaks Island, she was an active volunteer at The Fifth Maine Museum. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved her family deeply.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick, in 1995, an infant son, Michael, and her brother, Robert.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kip Gardner of Long Island, NY, Bess Hibben (Scott) of Ankeny, IA, Mary Weis (Steve) of Fort Worth, TX, and Amy Gardner (Al) of Owls Head, ME; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Patricia’s family has chosen to remember her life privately. Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
