Milton W  Grierson
SOUTH THOMASTON – Milton W. Grierson, 89, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Sussman House in Rockport, following an extended period of declining health.

Born in South Thomaston, April 22, 1927, he was the son of Chester A. and Marcia Creamer Grierson. Milt attended South Thomaston schools.

April 29, 1955, he married Beverly A. Grant at Rockland. The couple made their home in South Thomaston all their married lives.

For more than 40 years, Milt was employed with the Department of Public Works, City of Rockland, retiring in August of 1990 as a Working Foreman.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening and ‘Digging Dirt’. Milt was a member of Harmony Bible Church in South Thomaston.

Besides his parents, Milt was pre-deceased by siblings, Roger Grierson, Hester Dennison, Philip Grierson and Isabelle Laramie. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beverly of South Thomaston; three sons, George W. Grierson and his wife Karen, Richard A. ‘Rick’ Grierson and his wife Maxine, David M. Grierson of South Thomaston; one daughter Deborah Olsavick and her husband Ronald; several precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside committal will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Ocean View Cemetery, South Thomaston. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sussman House, C/O Pen Bay Healthcare Foundation, 22 White Street, Rockland, ME 04841.

Arrangements are in care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
