Carlton Bedard  Patch
SPRUCE HEAD - C. B. (Carl) Patch passed away unexpectedly at Maine Medical Center on May 20, 2016.

Carl was born in Boston on July 15, 1943 to Albert B. and Gladys B. Patch. He attended all Catholic schools and was a member of St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church in Rockland. Carl graduated cum-laude from Northeastern University (Boston) with a BS/BA. He was selected by Northeastern Alumni Association to receive the “Person Most Likely To Succeed” award. He graduated from Babson College in Wellesley with a MBA in Finance.

Carl spent his career at Mobil Corporation, where he was put on the High Potential List immediately upon hire. The family relocated thirteen times to facilitate his career advancements. Among others, some of Carl’s career titles were Global Strategic Manager of Planning for IT, where he represented Mobil around the world; Director of Finance and Vice President of MASCO (a subsidiary of Mobil). Carl also spoke to the US House of Representatives on the implementation and value of IT in government at the request of US Senator John Warner, (R.VA).

After retiring from Mobil, Carl was a full time consultant to the American Red Cross, Washington, D.C. (two years) and to the FDA (one year). Upon retiring to Maine, Carl was an adjunct professor at the University of Maine (Augusta). Later, he and Eileen traveled to Vancouver, B.C. to purchase an authentic steel tugboat (Seanaghi) and operated it out of Wheeler Bay in St. George. He also served on several boards in St. George.

Carl is survived by his wife of 49 years Eileen, his beloved sons Carl J. and Dana B. of Rockland, his sister Dr. Marilyn Arnone (Joe), brother-in-law, John J. O’Donoghue, sister-in-law, Marian O’Donoghue, nephews Sean (Angela), Richard (Ciara, Shayne (Jenn), nieces Alexis (Nick), Dawn (Peter).

Special thanks to Jennifer Guilfoyle, FNP, Paula Manser, RN, Dr. Chris Gelwix, the cardiac team of Maine Medical Center, and to our wonderful friends at home and away for their generosity, love and support.

A memorial service will be held at St. Bernard's on Saturday, June 18 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow.
