Evelyn K  Crocker
CAMDEN - Evelyn K. Crocker, 97 died peacefully, following a period of declining health, Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Quarry Hill in Camden.
Born in Lincolnville, June 13, 1918, she was the daughter of Lindley and Ruth Hopkins Knight. Educated locally, she was a 1934 graduate of Camden High School. Mrs. Crocker went on to earn her degree in Teaching from the Gorham State Normal School in 1939. Continuing her education at the University of Maine at Orono, she later earned her Masters in Education from Boston University in 1954.
Mrs. Crocker spent her career as a dedicated elementary school teacher, first in Augusta and Camden, with the majority of her career spent in Brookline, Massachusetts.
Predeceased by her husband Herbert Crocker formerly of Hyannis and Newton, MA; her siblings, Charles, Maynard and Marion; and a nephew Rickey Golay; Mrs. Crocker is survived by her nephews, Lindley Knight and his wife Terry of Warren, Charles Golay of Boston, MA, Ronnie Golay and his wife Jenny; her great nephews, Andrew Golay, Jeff Golay; and a great-niece Heather Knight.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at the Newton Cemetery in Newton, MA.
Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
