Obituary for Aristide Joseph Lahey

Aristide Joseph  Lahey
ROCKLAND - Aristide ‘Tony’ Lahey, 81, died peacefully with his wife at his side, Monday, December 7, 2015 at Sussman House in Rockport.
Born in Les E. Trourtes, Canada, he was the son of Willey and Philemen Lahey. As a young man, Tony was an avid hockey player; playing in leagues until he was 25.

On June 15, 1995, Tony married Judith Young. Together they made their home in Rockland. While living in Rockland Tony was a member of the Lodge of Elks #1008, as well as the Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt American Legion, Post No. 1.

Tony was a hard worker all of his life. For many years he was employed as a woodsman while living in Livermore Falls. Later he worked in the construction business with the Union Local #327 in Augusta.

Predeceased by his parents, and two sons, David Lahey, Michael Lahey in September of this year; Tony is survived by his wife, Judith Lahey of Rockland; his sons, Donald Lahey of Livermore Falls, Daniel Lahey of Greene; a daughter Denise Leath and her husband Terry of Galliton, TN; step-sons, Mark Crockett of Benton, Michael Crockett of Lincolnville; step-daughters, Marie Pierce, Maryellen Benner both of Lincolnville, Stephanie Thorbjornson and her husband Edward of Tenants Harbor; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters and brothers and their families living in Canada; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
