Catherine Caroline  Falkenmeyer
ROCKLAND - Catherine Falkenmeyer, 87, died peacefully, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Knox Center for Long Term Care following an extended period of declining health.

Born November 9, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Marie and Albert Howell. Catherine married the love of her life, William Falkenmeyer, Sr. on February 15, 1947.

Bill and Catherine moved to Rockland in February of 1950 and resided here their entire lives.

Catherine was a very special person, and for 59 years was a stay at home mom, taking care of her daughter with special needs, Veronica.

Predeceased by her husband Bill in 1989; a sister Jackie in 2014; Catherine is survived by her children, Winnie Johnson and her husband Gus of Ashtabula, OH, William ‘Bill’ Falkenmeyer, Jr. and his wife Linda, Veronica Falkenmeyer all of Rockland; her granddaughters, Tammy Kramer and her husband Dave of Virginia, Tina Czuchra and her husband Brian of Ashtabula, OH; grandson Sean Kalloch and his wife Jessica of San Diego, CA; five great-grandchildren; nieces, Carol Canty, Gayle Stuart; a nephew Harry Steele and all of their children and grandchildren; a very special lady who Catherine affectionately call ‘Little Vera’ Terri Hallowell; her late sister, Jackie’s children, a niece Mary, and nephews, James, Lloyd, and Matt Peasley.

Catherine will be missed by all her family and her many church friends whom she considered family; also her Linden Street neighbors whom she loved very much.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. A reception will follow at 104 Limerock, adjacent to the funeral home. Interment will be at Seaview Cemetery, Rockland.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donations in Catherine’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
