TENANTS HARBOR - Olive “Ollie” Cline Elliott, 86, died Monday, August 17, 2015, at Knox Center for Long Term Care in Rockland after a long illness.
Born in Rockland, September 5, 1928, she was the daughter of Ralph E. Sr., and Mariam Crockett Cline. She attended local schools and was a 1946 graduate of St. George High School. She later earned a BA in Education from Merrill - Palmer Institute in Detroit, MI, and University of Maine at Orono.
She dedicated her life to nurturing children and volunteered countless hours with many organizations.
Other than her parents, Olive was pre-deceased by her beloved husband James A. Elliott in 2001, and a sister Mariam Linscott. She is survived by two sons, Christopher C. Elliott of Damariscotta, Robin C. Elliott of Tenants Harbor, a daughter Lisa A. Shaw and her husband Michael of Meredith, NH; a brother Ralph Cline, Jr. and his wife Shirley of Spruce Head; two grandchildren, Emily Elliott of Round Pond, Megan Elliott of Hadleigh, England; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 5, 2015, at St. Peters Episcopal Church, White Street, Rockland. The Reverend Lael Sorenson will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Seal Harbor Road, South Thomaston.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to (AIO) Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry, 70 Thomaston Street, Rockland, ME 04841.
