Obituary for Roxanne M. Penn (Daniello)

Roxanne M. Penn (Daniello)
ROCKLAND - Roxanne M. Penn, 55, died Thursday, August 20, 2015, surrounded by her family at the Sussman House in Rockport, following a four year battle with cancer.
Born in Rockland, April 8, 1960, she was the daughter of Mont T. ‘Dan’, Jr. and Joan M. Sewell Daniello. Roxanne attended local schools and was a 1978 graduate of Rockland District High School. While at RDHS, she excelled in Track & Field, setting two records, yet to be broken.
After graduating, she worked at the Red Jacket Restaurant at the Trade Winds in Rockland and for more than 12 years with the banquet staff at the Samoset Resort in Rockport. Roxie enjoyed the many friendships she established with fellow servers as well as many regular diners. She retired due to health issues.
May 15, 1999, she married the love-of-her-life, Spencer R. Penn, III, while standing in front of her rose bush garden at their home.
Her family said of Roxanne, that she was an awesome wife, mother and grandmother, who always doted on her family, including her brothers and sisters. She was always the loudest cheerleader in the stands at any of her family’s events. Camping at Lake Pemequid was a favorite thing for her to enjoy with family, and even when money was tight, she found a way to make that experience happen.
Roxanne loved gardening, especially with her Mom, as well as country music and her Toy Pomeranian ‘CoCo’. She was skilled at, and found great pleasure in cross-stitching. She was an avid fan of all New England sports teams.
Her family affectionately spoke of Roxanne’s feisty and somewhat stubborn spirit that gave her the strength to hold on longer than ever expected.
Roxanne was pre-deceased by her father in 2005. Other than her beloved husband Spencer, she is survived by her mother Joan of Thomaston; two sons, William ‘Will’ A. Bonzagni and his wife Andi, Chris J. Bonzagni both of Rockland; a daughter Trittany Penn and her companion Dexter Glidden of Whitefield; two brothers, Mont T. ‘ Danny’ Daniello, III and his companion Monica Hilton of Thomaston, Timothy Sewell of Rockland; a sister, Tonya Anders of Rockport; her aunt Diane Daniello of Thomaston; three grandchildren, Aidan Bonsagni, Max Bonsagni, Connor Penn; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Roxanne’s family appreciates your thoughts and prayers as a private family celebration will be held.
In lieu of flowers and in appreciation for the wonderful care Roxanne received in these last days of her transition to peace, memorial donations may be made to the Sussman House, C/O Pen Bay Healthcare, 22 White Street, Rockland, ME 04841.
