Condolence: I just learned of John's passing this afternoon (Monday). I was so sad to hear the news. He will always hold a special place in my heart as he was more of a dad to me than my own was. So many nights spent at his and Polly's home, I always felt welcomed. I have a picture of him in my mind of sitting in his chair in the kitchen reading his paper or laid out on his back on the couch watching the Red Sox struggle hopping this was their year! He had such a kind, quiet demeanor about him, a gentle giant. I don't recall him ever getting mad at us girls. Took us to town anytime we wanted to go. I will always be thankful for him and Polly and for all they have done for me growing up. Their home was a safe Heaven for me. Thank you! Rest in Peace John.
