Obituary for Arnold Heino

Arnold Heino
ROCKLAND - Arnold Heino, 74 died unexpectedly, Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at his home in Rockland.

Born in Medway, February 9, 1941, he was the son of Samuel and Lillian Ward Heino. Educated in Rockland, he was a 1960 graduate of Rockland High School.

Following high school, Arnold enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He served proudly was honorably discharged.

Arnold loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and ice fishing. He was a hard worker and found a way to blend his passion of the outdoors with work. For many years he was co-owner with Gustuv ‘Gus’ Carlson, Jr., of Coastal Landscaping. Together they worked on many jobs, beautifying countless properties. Arnold had an extensive knowledge of plants and how to make them grow.

Although an incredibly private person, he was always generous and thinking of others. Even when his great-great-niece stopped by to help him with a small task, he would offer to pay her a little something for her troubles. He was kind and humble and always appreciative of the help offered to him.

The greatest love in his life was his dog ‘Sparky’. He was always by Arnold’s side and even after Sparky died, Arnold kept a photo of him with him at all times.

Predeceased by his brother, George Heino, Sr., and two nephew, George Heino, Jr., William ‘Billy’ Archer; Arnold is survived by his sister, Margaret Archer of Thomaston; niece, Rhonda Smith and her husband Michael of Cushing; nephews, Paul Heino of Thomaston, Edward Archer of Cushing; great-nieces, April Benedix and her husband Kaden of Thomaston, Rose Smith and her companion Jake of Cushing, Kaylee Heino of Cushing; a great-great-niece, Michaela ‘KK’ Smith; long-time friends Bill and Louise Flint, Joanne ‘Cookie’ Kenney all of Rockland; and friend and business partner, Gustuv ‘Gus’ Carlson, Jr. of Warren.
