OWLS HEAD - LeRoy T. Bennett, 97, died peacefully, with his loving family at his side, Monday, May 18, 2015 at his home.

Born May 3, 1918, he was the son of Angus and Elsie Thornes Bennett. Mr. Bennett was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Roberta F. Bennett; his son, Dennis B. Bennett; and his brother Donald Bennett.

He is survived by his sister Jean Hitchen of Lady Lake, FL; his daughters, Alice J. Bennett of South Pasadena, CA, Roberta L. Gay and a much loved son-in-law William G. Gay of Owls Head.

LeRoy was a loving husband, father and friend. He was a 61 year member of the N.Y. State Mineola Masonic Lodge #985, serving proudly as Master of the Lodge in 1986 and as Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge of Alberta, Canada.

LeRoy’s family would like to thank Dr. Cheryl Liechty who was his wonderful and caring physician for 10 years, as well as the staff of the Sussman House and Kno-Wal-Lin for their compassion.

Burial will be held at a later date in Albertson, Long Island, New York.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
