Beryl  Levasseur (Hellen)
ROCKPORT – Beryl Levasseur, 67, died Monday, May 11, 2015, at the Sussman House in Rockport with her family at her side.
Born in Amesbury, Massachusetts, September 13, 1947, she was the daughter of Donald S. and Thelma Haynes Hellen. She grew up in Amesbury and South Hampton, NH, and graduated from Amesbury High School, class of 1965. She attended Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing.
While attending that school, Beryl met Thomas G. Levasseur. They were married October 7, 1967, in Newton, NH. The Levasseurs made their first home in Methuen, Massachusetts, before moving to Salem, NH. In 1971 they moved to South Thomaston, in 1980 to Owl’s Head, in 1990 to Rockland, and to their current home in Rockport in 2001.
In the late 1970s, Beryl served with the South Thomaston Ambulance.
In 1984, with her husband, she founded Electrotech, Inc., an electronics assembly company in Rockland. Beryl served as Operations Manager of Electrotech until retiring in 2013.
With her husband, she enjoyed traveling, often visiting Jamaica and Las Vegas.
Besides her beloved husband Thomas of Rockport, Beryl is survived by one son Shawn Levasseur of Rockland; one daughter, Angela M. Caverly and her husband Todd of Union; a brother-in-law, Richard Levasseur of Bay Harbor Islands, FL; three grandchildren, Carl, Levi and Helen Caverly of Union; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday. The Reverend Paul Munro will officiate. A reception will be held afterwards, from 3:00 P.M. To 5:00 P.M., at the Rockland Golf Club, 606 Old County Rd., Rockland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sussman House, c/o PenBay Healthcare Foundation, 22 White Street, Rockland, ME 04841.
