William Edward "Bill" Wood
WILDCAT @ ST. GEORGE - William E. “Bill” Wood, 67, died Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, after a period of declining health.
Born in St. George, February 22, 1948, he was the son of Donald R. and Lucienne D. Cote Wood. Bill was educated in St. George schools and was a 1967 graduate of Georges Valley High School, Thomaston.
Following high school, Bill worked several years as a Security Watchman with Atwood Lobster in St. George, and more recently with Bricher Lydon Company in Rockland.
For many years, Bill operated a part time small engine repair business from his River Road home. He enjoyed flying remote control airplanes and tinkering with ‘one lunger’ antique engines.
Other than his parents, Bill was pre-deceased by his brother James ‘Woody’ Wood in 2013. He is survived by a cousin, with whom he has resided the past four months, Mary Paradis and her husband William of Farmington and their children, Andrew Paradis and his family of Massachusetts and Matthew Paradis and his sons of Farmington.
A graveside service to be held at North Parish Cemetery, St. George, will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. George Firefighters and Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 249, Tenants Harbor, ME 04860.
